Definition

Mode for interpreting data in reports.

Use

In the reporting functions, data records are read from a transactional data target, reinterpreted according to certain customizing settings, and then displayed.

You can specify a hierarchy node selection for the organizational units:

  • If you choose No Reporting Logic, the consolidation group entered in the section "Organizational Units" is interpreted as a hierarchy node in the consolidation unit hierarchy. All consolidation units underneath this node are selected.

Furthermore, if the consolidation unit is explicitly restricted, the system uses the intersection with the node selection.

  • If you choose one of the three reporting modes, the consolidation group entered in the section "Organizational Units" is interpreted as a hierarchy node in the consolidation group hierarchy as well. All consolidation groups underneath this node are selected.

If the consolidation group is also restricted in the section "Further Settings," likewise, the system uses the intersection with the node selection.

The system interprets an omission of the node selection when working with reporting logic as a selection of all existing consolidation groups. When applicable, data records found in a transactional data target are output more than once - that is, once for each consolidation group the record belongs to.

For interpreting data, you can choose the modes standard, purchase method, and restatement:

  1. In Standard mode, the interpretation of the data takes into account the posting levels, the accounting techniques, the structure of the consoldation group or the consolidation unit hierarchy, and the dates of first consolidation and divestiture accounting.
  2. In Purchase Method mode, the system treats each consolidation unit as if it is consolidated using the purchase method, regardless of its actual accounting technique.
  3. In Restatement mode, the system disregards the dates of first consolidation and divestiture accounting.
