Use
Decide whether the characteristic is to be used for the authorization checks of tasks.
You can basically use all characteristics with the roles consolidation group, consolidation unit, version, and group currency, along with their dependent fields.
- If the number of these fields is less than seven, the system automatically uses all of the fields and you no selection is possible in the definition of the consolidation area.
- If the number of fields is greater than seven, you can select up to seven fields in the definition of the consolidation area.
Dependencies
Caution:
If you change an already existing consolidation area, in some cases all authorizations you created for tasks can become invalid. This is always true if do any of the following:
- Add new characteristics with the roles consolidation group, consolidation unit, version, and group currency
- Delete characteristics with those same roles
- Change the dependent characteristics with those same roles
Therefore, in this case, for the consolidation area you can always determine which fields should be used for the authorization check - even if the number of fields is less than or equal to seven.
