Documentation
Definition
Element of the customizing settings of document types for manual posting.
Use
The financial statement items you post manually might require a breakdown by characteristics (such as subassignments), depending on the item's breakdown category. When you enter documents wíth many items and many subassignments, then the document entry can become very untransparent.
Therefore, the customizing settings of a document type provide an option for each characteristic to have a given characteristic fixed or hidden during document entry.
- A temporarily fixed characteristic with the default "not fixed" is initially displayed on the document line item screen. The characteristic can be interactively fixed during manual document entry as long as it has a unique value throughout all line items in which the item has a breakdown by this characteristic. After the characteristic is fixed, you can edit it on the Fixed Subassignments tab page. When necessary, by deleting ithe characteristic you can transfer it back to the line item screen.
- A temporarily fixed characteristic with the default "fixed" is basically the same as described above except that it first appears on the Fixed Subassignments tab page.
- Permanently fixed characteristics initially behave like temporarily fixed characteristics with the default "fixed". However, permanently fixed characteristics cannot be moved to the line item screen.
Dependencies
The properties of fixing as illustrated in the sequence above portray an ascending order (less than/greater than relationship). The following applies to document fields that are dependent on each other: In the hierarchy of dependencies, the fixing at the next-higher level must be greater than or equal to the fixing at the current level.
