Documentation
Definition
Custom-defined name for grouping a set of inventory items (products) into logistical units.
The criterion for classifying and grouping the products is their similarity and/or how the products are used.
Use
You use product groups reflect the interunit delivery of goods and services within your corporate group for the elimination of IU profit and loss in transferred inventory:
- You record additional financial data on the basis of product groups and/or inventory items.
The system computes your interunit profit/loss at the level of product groups and inventory items.
However, the elimination of interunit profit/loss in inventory only takes place on the level of inventory items. You therefore need to assign one or more inventory items to each product group.
Dependencies
Examples
You could define product groups for engines and transmissions that are transferred between units in the corporate group and are recorded as inventory items.
