Definition
If you select this checkbox, you enable the adjustment of minority interests in retained earnings without affecting net income in subsequent consolidation and partial divestiture.
Use
If the Partial Divestiture as Equity Transaction function is active, the system adjusts the group value of the reported retained earnings in subsequent consolidations, partial divestiture, and transfers, depending on the other setting Minority Interest in Retained Earnings, as follows:
- As Attribution (to the Minority Interest income statement item)
- As Appropriation of Retained Earnings (to the balance sheet items Transfers to Minority Interest in Retained Earnings or Net Income - Partial Divestiture)
- As Attribution from Reported Equity Data:
- In the Subsequent Consolidation activity, to the Minority Interest income statement item
- In partial divestiture and transfers, to the balance sheet item Net Income#Partial Divestitures
Dependencies
If you activate the Partial Divestiture as Equity Transaction function, you should select the setting No or Complete Reduction in the system utilization for consolidation of investments for Goodwill in Divestitures and Transfers of Investments. Then the system does not modify the goodwill during partial divestitures and transfers. Instead, consolidation of investments posts the value, by which the goodwill was proportionately reduced, to the item for appropriation of retained earnings Net Income - Partial Divestiture in the balance sheet.
