Documentation
Definition
Percentage rate that has been calculated as the profit by the supplying consolidation unit.
Use
The profit percentage rate is used for calculating the cost of goods manufactured for the group. First, the profit portion of the revenue is deducted. Then, the remainder contains the costs of distribution and costs of goods manufactured.
Specify the calculated percentage rate of profit for the supplier.
Dependencies
The percentage rate can be interpreted either as a markup on revenue or as a gross margin of revenue. You choose the interpretation when entering the supplier data.
Example
Profit margin in percent: 20%
Revenue amount for supplier: 300
Profit if percentage is a markup = 300 * 20 / 120 = 50
Profit if percentage is a gross margin = 300 * 20 / 100 = 60
