Element of the source structure for data collection methods.
Use
When you define a data transfer method, you can either use a source data basis or an external field catalog.
- A source data basis corresponds to an InfoCube or an ODS object that you have defined as a data source. A source field is then a characteristic or a key figure of these data structures.
- You can specify an InfoObject catalog for characteristics or key figures during flexible upload with an external field catalog. The source field is then a characteristic or a key figure from this InfoObject catalog. This information is used to determine information about the technical attributes of fields.
