Use

Select this indicator to directly eliminate any goodwill that is incurred during the consolidation of investments, instead of capitalizing and amortizing it. For example, the goodwill could be cleared against appropriated retained earnings.

Dependencies

In the following Customizing screens for consolidation of investments, you can make global or method-specific definitions for the elimination.

In addition to direct elimination, you can choose the options "extraordinary amortization", "ordinary amortization", "direct writeoff" and/or "periodic reduction" for treating goodwill. When multiple options are chosen, you specify in the C/I method which option is to be valid for each method.
