Use
Postings of consolidation of investments extensively depend on the sequence in which the system processes the defined consolidation of investments activities.
The sequence depends on:
- The sequence of activities amongst themselves
- The sequence in which the consolidation units of the hierarchy are processed
In this step, you can set up the default sequence of the activities and you can select after which activity successive processing should stop (stop here indicator).
The overall sequence of the activities results from the following:
- The system derives an investment hierarchy from the collected additional financial data for changes in investements.
- For each consolidation unit, the system sorts the defined activities according to the default sequence of activities.
- The system creates the overall sequence of activities by merging the investment hierarchy and the default sequence.
- The system works through each hierarchy level from top to bottom.
- For each hierarchy level, the system goes through the consolidation units in alphanumerical order.
- For each consolidation unit, it processes all activities up the stop-here threshold.
- Then it processes the activities beyond the threshold. In this step, the system uses the reverse sequence of the consolidation units.
Dependencies
Example
Suppose a consolidation group contains the consolidation units CUTOP, CUMID, CUSUB1, and CUSUB2, and has the following investment hierarchy:
- CUTOP has ownership in CUMID.
- CUMID has holdings in CUSUB1 and CUSUB2.
The activities are first consolidation, subsequent consolidation, step acquisition, partial divestiture, and distribution of dividends. The sequence listed here is defined as the default sequence. The activity step acquisition was chosen as the stop-here threshold.
The system processes the activities in the following order:
- The activities first consolidation, subsequent consolidation, and step acquisition are performed for:
- CUMID
- CUSUB1
- CUSUB2
- Then, the activities partial divestiture and distribution of dividends are performed for:
- CUSUB2
- CUSUB1
- CUMID
