Definition

Use

When a task that automatically posts documents is repeated, this setting determines how the system treats documents that have already been created in the previous session.

You can choose:

  • Delete Old Documents
The system deletes the documents created in the previous session of the task.
  • Reverse Old Documents
The system reverses the documents created in the previous session of the task by posting reversal documents.
  • Depend on Document Type
The treatment of documents is based on the settings in the individual document types as opposed to being uniform for all documents within the version.

The system compares each document to be posted with the old documents. If an equivalent old document is found, the system retains the old document instead of creating a new document. The remaining old documents are either deleted or reversed, depending on what you have defined.

Note that the volume of documents is increased dramatically if you choose the option to reverse documents.

Dependencies

If you choose document type-dependent, you need to define the system's behavior in repeated sessions for all of the document types of the consolidation functions involved.
