Definition
Difference between the document calculated in the function and the sum of the documents calculated in the lower-level consolidation groups. Delta documents are indeed posted.
Use
In multilevel consolidation group hierarchies, the tasks consolidation of investments, consolidation group change, post group shares, and reclassification (posting level 30) make use of delta logic.
Documents of lower-level consolidation groups are also valid in the higher-level consolidation groups of the hierarchy. In higher-level consolidation groups, instead of posting total documents, the system updates the totals database or document database only with the difference (or delta) that exists between (a) the totals or documents in the lower-level consolidation groups and (b) the total document and its resulting totals in the higher-level consolidation group.
