Documentation
Definition
The point in time at which exchange rate determination takes place.
Use
The exchange rate period used belongs to the definition of the currency translation key.
The exchange rates available are normally day-specific. Accordingly, the maintenance of exchange rates for the standard exchange rate procedure of the exchange rate types is day-specific.
In the standard procedures, the determination of the date takes into consideration the fiscal year variant of the currency-bearing consolidation unit and uses the following periods:
- The current period (beginning): the first day of the current period
- The current period (end): the last day of the current period
- The last period of the prior year: the last day of that period
- The period of acquisition (end): the last day of the acquisition period (or year of the acquisition)
You can also create your own exchange rate periods used in the customer namespace (which starts with a letter). The definition of the period used is relative to the current period.
