Documentation
Definition
InfoObject used to identify:
- Assets (asset items, rights or any other economic values of operating assets that are at an enterprise's disposal in the long term and are separately identifiable as of the financial statement closing date)
- Liabilities (debt items of an enterprise recorded with the particular type, amount, and due date). The changes in value of an asset or liability can be presented either as a whole or in parts (using subnumbers).
Examples of assets/liabilities as used in this context are fair value differences (surpluses or deficits) and noncurrent assets.
Use
You need to specify the InfoObject for assets/liabilities only if you want to use the consolidation function capitalization and valuation allowances. The system automatically includes the InfoObject in the data streams for assets/liabilities and documents.
Dependencies
Field Definition in SAP BW:
The InfoObject for assets/liabilities can have any number of independent characteristics. The InfoObject itself or one of its independent characteristics needs to be compounded with the currency-bearing consolidation unit. (If the data model has only one characteristic for the consolidation unit, then this characteristic is the one to be compounded with.) Typical cases:
- The assets/liabilities InfoObject is compounded with an assets/liabilities main number InfoObject. In turn, the assets/liabilities main number InfoObject is compounded only with the currency-bearing consolidation unit. In this case, the InfoObject for assets/liabilities represents a subnumber.
- The assets/liabilities InfoObject is compounded only with the currency-bearing consolidation unit. In this case, subnumbers cannot be differentiated.
If the data model has two characteristics for the consolidation unit, it is helpful to define the characteristic for the non-currency-bearing consolidation unit as an attribute of the assets/liabilities characteristic.
