Definition

Specifies the item for posting the differential in a step acquisition orincrease in indirect investment without an effect on net income.

Use

If you set the Partial Divestiture as Equity Transaction indicator in the system utilization for consolidation of investments, the system posts the differential that results from a step acquisition or increase in indirect investment transaction to the Net Income - Step Acquisition balance sheet item without an effect on net income.

The postings to the Net Income - Step Acquistion item also records the consolidation of investments on the items for adjusted statistical net income. The system therefore takes these effects into account in a later total divestiture when it posts the gain or loss fromthe total divestiture to the income statement.

Dependencies

You can specify the Net Income - Step Acquisition item only afteryou have activated the Partial Divestiture as Equity Transaction function in the system utilization for consolidation of investments.
