Definition
Cost events are the basis for calculating services that the provider of SAP Biller Consolidator or the Biller Service Provider (BSP) and Customer Service Provider (CSP) components bills to his or her participating parties.
Cost events are defined by the cost event type and cost event subtype. Cost event types and subtypes are part of the SAP standard delivery. The cost event type defines the type of service, which can be broken down further into subtypes (see following example).
During the processing of bills/payments, cost events are generated and stored in the components of SAP Biller Consolidator.
Cost events are settled in a separate SAP component (Service Billing) or in an external billing system to where the cost events can be transferred. Pricing and billing is handled in the billing system.
