Definition
Cost components in a cost component structure that are grouped together for information purposes.
You can evaluate cost component groups in different ways, such as:
- In the information system
- In the costed multilevel BOM
- In reports that you program yourself
Procedure
You assign a cost component to a cost component group in Customizing for Product Cost Planning by entering the key for the cost component group in the attributes of the cost component.
Use
You can assign two different cost component groups to a cost component. When you display the costing results, you can select one of the two cost component groups.
Examples
- You have carried out group costing and want to see the partner cost component split in the information system. The costs are broken down into cost component groups. You can switch back and forth between the two cost component groups when viewing the costing results.
By entering two cost component groups in the attributes of the cost components, you can decide for each cost component whether and for which group the costs are displayed.
- You have carried out a costing run and want to see the results in the information system. In the initial screen, you can decide which cost component group you want the report to be based on.
