Definition
For the grouping of invoicing items, the grouping characteristics of the items are analyzed.
With the Use of Characteristic Value, you define how the grouping characteristics are to be provided with values. You can choose between the following alternatives:
Use Original Field Value if No Alternative Value Defined
Here the value of the invoicing item field is used unchanged as the grouping characteristic. If, for example, an item with company code 1100 is processed, using this option the grouping characteristic has the identical value 1100. However, you can also define alternative characteristic values for certain characteristic values.
Use Initial Value (SPACE) if No Alternative Value Defined
Here, the grouping characteristic receives the initial value (SPACE) regardless of the value of the field in the invoicing item. If, for example, an item with company code 1100 is processed, with this option the grouping characteristic receives the value ' ' (SPACE). This setting is only useful if you also define alternative characteristic values.
