Definition

This is the date from which the decision tree is applicable for tax event determination. The dates that can be entered are dependent on the Decision Tree version.

A version is automatically generated when the decision tree is released as described in Note below and the version of the decision tree can be viewed on header level in the History tab.

These date rules must be applied so that the correct decision tree version is used in the case of cancellations and the TTE uses the correct version for tax event determination.

Date Rules

Rule 1: Applies to version 1 of the decison tree

Any date is allowed.

Rule 2: Applies to all versions except version 1

Date must be later than current date.
Date must be equal to or later than the valid-from date of the previous version. If the valid-from date is later than the current date, the later date must be taken.

Decision Tree Version Used For Tax Event Determination

The tax date is the factor that influences the choice of decision tree version. The TTE applies the following logic for determining which decision tree version is used for tax event determination:

The most recent decision tree version that has a valid-from date that is earlier or the same as the tax date is the version that is used.

Example

Decision Tree Version 1: Valid-From Date: 01.01.2000

Decision Tree Version 2: Valid-From Date: 01.01.2002

Decision Tree Version 3: Valid-From Date: 01.01.2003

Tax Date = 03.03.2002

In this case Decision Tree Version 2 is used for tax event determination.

Note

A decision tree must be released before it can be used for tax event determination.

To release the decision tree, choose

Decision Tree -> Release.
