Use
The Pay scale level fields contain codes of up to 2 alphanumeric characters. The codes are used to identify a range of pay scale levels suitable for a position.
Pay scale levels link pay rates with years of service. So, for example, persons with 0 to 2 years of service may be defined as level 1, those with 2 to 4 years as level 2, and so on.
Since pay levels (sometimes called wage bands) vary from one labour organization to another, you must determine the correct codes to use for your company.
Use pay scale levels only if you work in a unionized environment, where all aspects of pay are regulated. Otherwise, use the Amount area fields to specify planned compensation.
Procedure
In CREATE mode, use the Pay scale level fields to identify a suitable range of pay levels for the position you are working with. To do so:
- type in the appropriate codes
In CHANGE mode, enter a different code by typing over the existing code.
