Definition

The (special) valuation classes are used to classify the financial investments in a specific valuation area by asset type.

Examples of valuation classes are current assets and fixed assets for a German HGB valuation area, or trading, available for sale (AfS), and held to maturity (HTM) for an IAS valuation area.

The (special) valuation class is a differentiation term in the parallel valuation areas. A special valuation class is assigned to each subledger position.

Note

This characteristic is only displayed for the area of validity of the architecture of the parallel valuation areas . This means that this characteristic is empty for the area loans (CML) operative (valuation area 001 in integrated reporting).
