Definition

The category of the special valuation indicates the reason for performing a valuation in a different way to the rules specified for the security valuation procedure. Three categories are supported:

• Special write-up/write down - mandatory
• Special write-up/write-down - exercised right
• Special write-up/write-down - impairment

Special update types are used for each category:

• Security write-up
• Security write-down
• Clear security write-up, and
• Clear security write-down

A special valuation for write-ups/downs (mandatory and exercised rights) can only be carried out by the securities valuation and only for securities.

A special valuation (impairment) can be carried out for both securities and loan contracts
