Definition

This indicator controls whether clearing flows are to be generated for offsetting valuations or not.

Indicator = 'X': Clearing flows are generated.

Indicator = ' ': No clearing flows are generated.

If a position, which has already had a write-up, is subject to a decrease in value as a result of a key date valuation, and the decrease exceeds the original write-up, then two flows are generated if the indicator has been set:

• A clearing flow to the amount of the original write-up.
• A write-down flow to the amount of the difference between the original write-up and the value decrease.

These flows can then be treated differently in account determination.

You must define an update type in Customizing for the clearing flow.
