Documentation
Definition
The information stored for the characteristic of this time data ID is used when maintaining time data.
Use
Example
You defined two characteristics for the ID "L." One characteristic represents infotype 2001/subtype 0100, and the other infotype 2001/subtype 0100. You set the infotype 2001/subtype 0100 combination as the default characteristic. The ID infotype 2001/subtype 0110 is also defined as a valid entry.
If an employee enters the ID "L" along with times, the system recognizes the ID first as infotype 2001/ subtype 0100 because you defined it as the default. However, because you also defined the infotype 2001/subtype 0110 combination as a valid entry, the employee can still enter the subtype 0110. In this case, the ID "L" then represents infotype 2001/subtype 0110.
Note
Only time data IDs belonging to the infotype data category can be indicated as valid entries. The Time Events infotype (2011) is an exception in this case; you cannot choose the option Input for IDs of this infotype.
