Definition

Shows the upper amount limit as the number of installment payments up to which the system creates an automatic payoff from an overpayment.

Dependencies

The System uses this amount limit to process overpayments with the help of the report Automatic Processing of Overpayments for Consumer Loans.

  • Lower amount limit

You determine the lower amount limit in Customizing for Loans Management in the IMG activity Define Amount Limit.

  • Upper amount limit

You determine the upper amount limit as an absolute amount or as a number of installment payments. The system accounts for the smaller amount in the following way:

    • The absolute amount and the number of installments are zero:
    • The system cannot create an automatic payoff.
    • The absolute amount is greater than zero and the number of installments is zero:
    • The system uses the absolute amount as the upper limit.
    • The absolute amount is zero and the number of installments is greater than zero:
    • The system uses the number of installment multiplied by the payment amount for each installment as the upper limit.
    • The absolute amount and the number of installments are greater than zero:
    • The system uses the smaller of the two amounts - either the absolute amount or the number of installments multiplied by the payment amount for each installment.

Example

You want to set a limit to determine that a borrower can only payoff a maximum of three payment installments up to a maximum amount of 2,000 EUR without prior agreement. To do this, enter 2000 in the product attribute As the Absolute Amount and 3 in the product attribute As the Number of Payment Installments.
