Documentation
Definition
Indicates the date to which a version or an entry is valid.
Use
A version or an entry is usually created for an unlimited period. If you do not want to alter this status, simply retain the default valid to date (31.12.9999). You should only limit the validity period (by entering a valid to date) if a reason for setting a time limit exists.
Dependencies
The valid from date for the subsequent entry borders on the previous entry. The end of the validity period for the previous entry is therefore the valid from date for the subsequent entry minus one calendar day. The last entry should remain valid for an unlimited period. To ensure that this is the case, do not alter the default valid to date (31.12.9999).
