The tax authority code is used by the taxing module to identify the federal, state, or local government tax agency and the taxing formula to be used during payroll calculation.

Use
Taxing Authority Codes are defined by BSI and dictates the province or territory where the employee is employed. In most cases the federal and provincial taxes are combined under one Tax Authority record. (Subtype'1'- Federal) However, Quebec collects its own provincial taxes, and, as such, requires both a federal and provincial taxing authority record.
