Definition
An unsolicited applicant is one who does not refer to a job or a job advertisement in his/her application.
Candidates are classified as unsolicited applicants by being assigned to an unsolicited application group. The unsolicited application group is used to classify these applications according to such criteria as the activity the applicants would perform for the company if hired.
Examples
Possible unsolicited application groups include the following:
- salaried employees in Sales and Distribution
- salaried employees in Research and Development
- salaried employees in Personnel Administration
- wage earners in Production
- wage earners in Printing Works
