Definition

When determining whether or not an accountholder reached the contribution limit, the contribution amounts made to the traditional IRA(s) have to be added to the contributions made to the Roth IRA(s) of the same accountholder. In order to facilitate this, a contribution limit code has been introduced. The contribution limit code enables the association of one or more retirement plan types to a contribution limit code.
