Definition
The variable can be replaced by
- the characteristic value key
- the external characteristic value key
- the name of the characteristic value
- an attribute value
- a query result.
The difference between 'key' and 'external key value' is only important if the charcteristic that belongs to it has a conversion exit.
Example:
'Pump' is a characteristic value of the characteristic 'Material'. 'Pump' is the name. The key is 'P42'. If the material has a conversion exit, the external key value could be 'P-42', for example. You access the various texts by selecting 'key' or 'external key value'.
Only replace with 'attribute value' if you are working with formula variables. You replace parts of a formula (formula variables) dynamically with the value of a key figure attribute for the selected characteristic when you execute a report..
Replacement with the 'query result' is only permitted with characteristic value variables that are processed using the 'replacement path'. In this case, replacement with a 'query result' is the only permissable selection option. Replacement using 'query result' means that the characteristic value variable is replaced from the characteristic value that delivers another query.
