Definition
You can choose between two different processing types:
- Normal processing: The data for processing is requested all together by the OLAP processor. The process is particularly suitable for small and medium sized results. This processing type is thus also used in the Business Explorer Analyzer. If you do not choose recursive processing then 'normal processing' is automatically switched on.
- Recursive processing:This processing type is particularly designed for large datasets that come up in background processing. The data is not requested all at once by the OLAP processor but in smaller processing units. This processing type has the advantage that the memory requirement is reduced and that larger datasets can be processed.
Please note, however, that this processing type is slower with smaller and medium-sized datasets than 'normal processing' is.
