Definition
The transaction data to be locked is described by a selection table. A normal form of this selection table is managed on the lock server.
In the normal form, some selection options are converted to an equivalent form. For example, the selection option 'CP' is mapped to a closed interval. This may produce the character hex00 (hexadecimal 00) or hexFF (hexadecimal FF). You can determine replacement characters to format these characters in the lock records.

Example
If a characteristic has an internal length of 10 characters and is selection option 'CP', the value 'PRE*' is mapped to interval [PREhex00...hex00,PREhexFF...hexFF]. If the replacement characters are '#' for hex00 and '%' for hexFF, interval [PRE#######,PRE%%%%%%%] appears in the display of the lock records.
