Definition
For the duration of a lock check you require exclusive access to the lock server. If the lock server is already processing a lock request for an InfoCube it cannot process another lock request simultaneously.
Here you can determine the number of times the system tries to obtain exclusive access to the lock server. If exclusive access is still not possible after this number of attempts, you get a lock message.
Use
Use this setting if the lock server has to process a high number of lock operations and you want to make sure that batch processes do not fail because of access problems on the lock server.
In situations where there is a heavy load on the server, consider using the liveCache as a lock server.
