Definition
Indicator: Characteristic is block characteristic
Use
The characteristics of an InfoProvider are used in different ways in planning functions. In the CharacteristicUsage in the planning function you determine the role that the characteristic plays.
Dependencies
Each characteristic that is not flagged as "to be changed" is automatically a block characteristic.
Example
You want to copy actual data from the previous year to the plan data for the current year. The system uses the Version characteristic to distinguish between plan and actual data. In the copy planning function, the characteristics Version and Year are selected as characteristics that are to be changed. Other characteristics like Product and Country are not changed during the copy operation and therefore count as block characteristics.
