Definition

In this section you can set up, check and, if necessary, repair all the performance settings that are relevant for a specific InfoCube.

The performance context of an InfoCube is determined by

  • the indices of the fact table (top traffic light)
  • the indices of the aggregate fact tables (center traffic light),
  • the existence and validity of the statistical information on the database for the InfoCube tables (bottom traffic light).

The individual traffic lights mean:

  • green: everything OK
  • yellow: errors; remove this problem soon
  • red: errors; remove this problem as soon as possible

Alongside the traffic lights, there are other functions to help you with further problem solving:

  • Check: refreshes the traffic light
  • Delete (for indices only): deletes the indices (choose "repair" to restore the indicies)
  • Repair (for indices only): repairs the indices
  • Note: The repairs take place in the background since they can take a long time to run.
  • Refresh: Refreshes the statistical information of the InfoCube tables
  • Note: The refresh take place in the background since it can take a long time to run.

To optimize performance during the loading processes, there are 4 check boxes. Each one refers to the loading process:

  • Indices can be automatically deleted and then restored when the laoding is complete. This accelerates the loading process. However, simultaneous reading processes are badly affected: they take a lot longer. You should therefore only use this method if there is no reading process when the data is loaded.
  • Statistical information can be updated automatically when the loading process is complete. This is recommended in general. You should only avoid using this option if you are loading very small amounts of data (compared to the amount of data already available).
