Description
In this section you can set, check and, where necessary, repair all of the performance settings that are relevant for a specific InfoCube.
The performance context of an InfoCube is determined by
- the indices of the fact table (upper traffic light),
- the indices of the fact table of the aggregates (middle traffic light),
- the existence and currentness of the statistics information on the database for the InfoCube tables (lower traffic light).
The individual traffic lights meant:
- green: everything ok
- yellow: Inconsistency, this problem should be corrected medium-term
- red: Inconsistency, this problem should be corrected short-term
In addition to the traffic lights you will find the function buttons that can help to solve such a problem.
- Check: Updates the respective traffic light
- Delete (only for indices): Deletes the respective indices
- (afterwards the indices should be recreated using "repair")
- Repair (only for indices): repairs the respective indices
- Comm: The repairs take place in a background process, as they can take a long time.
- Recalculate: Updates the statistics information of the InfoCube tables
- Comm: The update takes place in a background process as it can take a long time.
4 checkboxes are available for performance optimization of the data load processes that each refer to initial and load processes:
- Indices can be deleted before the load process and after the loading is finished be recreated. This accelerates the data loading. However, simultaneous read processes to a cube are negatively influenced: they slow down dramatically. Therefore, this method should only be used if no read processes take place during the data loading.
- Statistics information can be automatically updated after the load process is finished. This is generally recommended. Only if very little data is loaded (in comparison to the quantity of that which already exists), then this option should be avoided.
