Definition

In the Business Information Warehouse, an InfoCube serves to store data for a particular arae.

Dependencies

An InfoCube is structured according to the so-called star schema. It is made up of a fact table, that contains the key figures (e.g. revenue, sales quantity) and several dimensional tables, that contain the characteristics (e.g. company code, column).

The dimensional tables each have a generated key field and contain the characteristics in the data part. The generated key fields of all the dimensions that belong to the InfoCube form the key for the fact table.

InfoCubes are filled with data with the aid of update rules from one or more InfoSources.
