Definition

The characteristic is filled by reading on demand the master data of another characteristic of the InfoSource.

Example: The characteristic 'Employee' is not contained in the communication structure, but it is an attribute of the characteristic 'Customer number'. This characteristic is contained in the communication structure. You can then fill the characteristic Employee by reading the master data from the source characteristic 'Customer number' on demand.

If the attribute is time-dependent then you can also enter a time characteristic, as well as determining by 'Start' or 'End' whether the first or last calendar day of the entered time period is to be chosen. If you choose such a characteristic then sy-date is used.
