Definition

This indicator is not normally activated. The master data from all the source systems is contained in the same namespace.

If for this characteristic in various source systems there are identical characteristic values that describe different objects, you have to convert the values in such a way in BI that they become clear. You can carry out the conversion in the transfer rules for this source system or in the transfer routine for the characteristic.

If it is too time-consuming to perform the conversion, you can activate this indicator. The characteristic is then compounded automatically to the InfoObject #Source System ID#. This means that the master data is valid locally for a source system or a group of source systems. You do not need to convert identical characteristic values any more, as they are separated by the characteristic #Source System ID# that is contained in the key for master data table.

Before data transfers, the master data for the characteristic #Source System ID# must be maintained, along with the assignment of the source systems to the source system IDs.
