Definition
The metadata upload detects whether an ODP which is base for a BW DataSource does not exist anymore in the source system and can in this case propose the deletion of the obsolete DataSources.
Use
- Check "no deletion", if you would not like to get any proposal for DataSources which are obsolete due to a not (longer) existing ODP in thesource system.
- Check "preselection for deletion", if you would like the system to propose the obsolete DataSources on the confirmation popup already selected in the checkbox. You may still de-select the proposal.
- Check "manual deletion", if you would like the system to show the obsolete DataSource on the confirmation popup, however not yet selected (checkbox).
Dependencies
Note: The DataSource is a necessary object for other objects (like Transformation, DTP, InfoPackage) and it also contains loaded data in the PSA table. Thus, you should make sure that the deletion of the DataSource is really desired.
If you doubt that the ODP is obsolete, do not confirm the deletion of the DataSource!
There are also other reasons (like a damaged source system destination) which might lead to the proposal for deletion.
