Definition

The metadata upload changes the modified version of the DataSource according to the current ODP metadata in the source system. In order to also update the active version with the changes, a re-activation of the DataSources is necessary.

Note: It is no option of the metadata upload to automatically activate DataSources which are not active already.

Use

  • Check "in dialog (with transport connection)", if you would like to re-activate the existing active DataSources synchronously. Depending on the system settings and the package assignment of the DataSource, a transport popup occurs.
  • Check "in background (no transport connection)", if you would like to re-activate the DataSources in background as batch job. In this case it might be necessary to collect and transport the changed data flows againin Tx RSA1-> transport connection.
  • Check "no activation", if you think that an re-activation is not necessary. This might be the case if you do manual changes after the upload and then activate the DataSource - or in the context of a system copy where a different process is going to do the re-activation later.
