Definition
This indicator or the InfoArea specifies whether the characteristic is an InfoProvider. You cannot set the indicator directly; you can only set it by entering an InfoArea in the corresponding field.
If you want to use a characteristic as an InfoProvider, you have to assign it an InfoArea. The characteristic is subsequently displayed in the InfoProvider tree in the Administrator Workbench. You can define update rules for the characteristic and use them to load attributes and texts.
You can then also define queries for the characteristic (more precisely, for the master data of the characteristic). In this case you can select two-level navigation attributes (that is, the navigation attributes of the navigation attributes of the characteristic) on tab Attributes . These are then available like normal characteristics in the query definition.
You can only use a characteristic as an InfoProvider if the characteristic contains attributes.
