Definition
The term data target is a generic term for BW objects into which data can be posted using the Staging Engine with update methods.
This includes the following objects:
InfoObjects (as long as they have master data).
Note:
- A data target is not a new BW object, rather a grouping term for existing BW objects.
- Relationship to the term InfoProvider: The term 'InfoProvider' unites BW objects that can deliver data for a <query; the term 'data target' means BW objects into which data can be posted in a uniform manner.
- For example, a MultiProvider is an InfoProvider but not a data target.
