Definition

With the elimination of internal business volume, you need to specify one or more characteristic pairs, according to which the key figure is to be eliminated. The characteristics of such a pair must have the same reference characteristic. You can also enter the name of a navigation attribute here.

With this kind of characteristic pair- for example, 'Sending Cost Center' and 'Receiving Cost Center', the system carries out elimination in the following way:

A particular cell in the report is considered. It has a selection S for the send characteristic 'Sending Cost Center' and a selection E for the receipt characteristic 'Receiving Cost Center'. These selections are taken from the global filter, the dynamic filter and the cell row and column definition.

For all InfoProvider data records that are applicable to this cell: The value of the 'Sending Cost Center' characteristic is contained in the selection S and the value of the 'Receiving Cost Center' characteristic is contained in the selection E. The system only eliminates the key figure for this data record when the record would still apply to the cell even if sender and recipient were the other way round. That is, if the value of the 'Sending Cost Center' characteristic were contained in the selection E, and the value of the 'Receiving Cost Center' characteristic were contained in the selection S.

If you are maintaining several characteristics, use the radio button to specify whether all characteristic pairs are to be eliminated (in this case, the value of the key figure is only eliminated when the elimination condition described above is met for all characteristic pairs), or whether the system is to eliminate by each individual characteristic pair (in which case, the key figure is eliminated so long as the elimination condition is met for an individual characteristic pair).

A typical application of elimination is in hierarchies, in the case where the send characteristic is not restricted and expanded with a hierarchy, and the receipt characteristic is restricted in the filter. Here, the key figure for a line is only eliminated when the value of the recipient characteristic is also located in this hierarchy node, and the value of the sender is in the filter for the recipient.
