Use

If you set this indicator, the BWA index is deleted and rebuilt after the data has been deleted from the InfoCube. If you do not set this indicator, the BWA index is simply deleted after the data has been deleted from the InfoCube. You have to rebuild the BWA index separately yourself.

Note that the indicator cannot be set using a write variant or delete variant in transaction SARA.

Dependencies

If you start an archiving request from the Data Warehousing Workbench and the indicator is set,

  • a background job is split and scheduled when you start the request online.
  • the system starts rebuilding the BWA index synchronously in the archiving request in the background (shown in log).

If you start archiving using a process chain and the indicator is set, the process step Archive Data from an InfoProvider (deletion step)

  • the sytem starts synchronously rebuilding the BWA index in the archiving request in the background (shown in log).

We recommend that you do not set the indicator and that you rebuild the BWA index using the separate process step Initial Activation and Filling of BWA Indexes. This ensures that rebuild of the BWA index can be separately logged and restarted.
