Use
In the monitor for real-time data acquisition, the system displays the daemons that are available in the system in a tree structure along with the objects that are assigned to them (DataSource with corresponding InfoPackage, data transfer process, and process chain that is triggered by the data transfer process).
In the monitor for real-time data acquisition, you assign objects to a daemon.
The system displays the current status for each daemon and the objects assigned to it. This monitor enables you to monitor both the daemon itself and the data update into the PSA and the InfoProvider.
Features
For information about the structure of the daemon overview and the functions that are available in the monitor for real-time data acquisition, see Help -> Application Help.
Status
Daemons
@3C@ Daemon active
The background job for this daemon is running. Either an upload is currently running or the daemon is in quiet mode. The daemon is automatically set to inactive when there are no more InfoPackages being processed.
@8I@ Daemon inactive
No background job is running for this daemon; no upload for the assigned InfoPackages.
@3U@ Daemon stopped
The data transfer that was started for the assigned InfoPackages and data transfer processes (DTPs) is completed; the corresponding requests are closed. As long as the requests remain open, the daemon displays this status. The status of the daemon does not change to @8I@ (inactive) until all requests are closed.
@03@ Daemon terminated
You can start the daemon again after the error has been corrected. The daemon waits until a background job is available and then restarts the data transfer with this job. The daemon restarts the upload at the point at which it was terminated.
DataSources which have an InfoPackage for real-time data acquisition
@R2@ DataSource
DataSources that are not assigned to a daemon are displayed under Not Assigned Nodes. When a DataSource is assigned to a daemon, it is displayed under the relevant daemon.
The system does not display the status of the DataSource itself.
Under a DataSource, the system displays the corresponding InfoPackage for real-time data acquisition and any data transfer processes that are assigned.
InfoPackages and data transfer processes that are controlled by a daemon
@9N@ InfoPackage for real-time data acquisition
@VK@ Data transfer process (DTP) for real-time data acquisition
The following statuses are possible for the InfoPackage for a DataSource and the corresponding data transfer processes:
@09@ Upload running for this DataSource
The monitor displays this status during upload.
@08@ All previous uploads for this DataSource were successful
The monitor displays this status if the daemon is in quiet mode and no upload is currently taking place. The background job is running.
@0A@ Error while transferring data
The monitor displays this status if there is an error during the update or if the maximum number of error attempts is exceeded when data is updated to the InfoProvider.
@EB@ No data transfer to this DataSource
The monitor displays this status if the corresponding daemon is inactive (no background job) or the active daemon is not processing this InfoPackage or data transfer process.
PSA requests and DTP requests
In the monitor, the system only displays those requests that are still open or contain errors. The system only opens a DTP request if data is available in the PSA.
To display a complete list of requests, you can jump to PSA administration via DataSource maintenance or jump to InfoProvider administration via the DTP.
@09@ Request open
The monitor displays this status for an open request with which the data transfer is running. This status is the normal status for requests with real-time data acquisition.
@0A@ Error while transferring data
The monitor displays this status if there is an error during data transfer. The system displays requests with this status if they have to be repeated.
Process chains
- @CQ@ Process chain
If you have assigned a subsequent process chain to a data transfer process, the process chain is displayed under the data transfer process. The process chain is executed when the daemon closes a DTP request.
