Documentation
Definition
The characteristics and key figures contained in an InfoProvider are the fields. They are labeled with the technical name of the InfoObject.
The attributes of a characteristic are the fields and they are also labeled with the technical name of the InfoObject.
The fields of a DataSource are labeled with the DataSource#s name, even if an InfoObject is meant to be mapped as a template.
Use
Dependencies
The field name matches the name that is used to display a DataSource, transformation, InfoProvider or characteristic. With InfoProviders and InfoObjects, the field name is different from the field name in the generated database objects.
Example
A DataStore object contains the characteristics 0CUSTOMER and REGION as key fields. The first characteristic originates from BI Content and the second is in the customer namespace. They label the fields with the names of the InfoObjects "0CUSTOMER" and "REGION". However, the field names in the generated tables of the DataStore object are "CUSTOMER" and "/BIC/REGION".
