Documentation
Definition
In the BI system, the term InfoProvider covers various metaobjects in the data basis. In terms of query definition, these objects can be uniformly understood as data providers, and the data they contain can be uniformly reported on. This includes the following objects:
- DataStore objects
- InfoCubes
- HybridProviders
- InfoObjects, as long as they contain master data and/or texts
- VirtualProviders
- InfoSets
- Aggregation levels
- MultiProviders
Note:
- The term InfoProvider does not specify criteria such as how data is supplied or the level of detail or "proximity" to the source system in the data flow diagram. It simply means that the object contains data that can be evaluated in a query.
- An InfoProvider is not a new BI object, but a collective term for a group of existing BI objects.
