Definition
The role of a selectable field specifies how this characteristic is taken into account on storage of the rules "Item A -> Item B".
Use
In the case of the role Part of Rule Key a separate call-up of the affinity analysis is carried out for all existing characteristic values according to the selection in the analysis run. If many such fields exist, then the system automatically determines the quantity of all combinations from the relevant characteristic values.
In the case of the role Pure Filter Criterion, the selection criteria for this field are considered internally for the affinity analysis. In the determined rules, however, this field does not exist.
Dependencies
A selectable field in the role Part of Rule Key must be contained in the Rule-Cube as an internal characteristic, not as a navigational attribute. It must also be an internal characteristic or navigational attribute of the TLOG InfoProvider.
If two selectable fields refer to the same InfoObject, then only one of these fields may assume the role Part of Rule Key. This can be the case particularly when using navigational attributes (example: attribute country for store, attribute country for customer number).
A selectable field in the role Pure Filter Criterion must not be contained in the Rule-Cube. However, be an internal characteristic or navigational attribute of the TLOG InfoProvider.
Example
The country has the role Part of Rule Key, thus the system determines rule affinities for each country. If besides sales transactions, there are also other transactions in the TLOG InfoProvider such as returns or goods movements, then we recommend that you include the transaction category as a selectable field in the role Pure Filter Criterion.
