Definition
This characteristic is the item (element of a transaction) that is to be used for determination of affinities.
Use
Depending on the choice of item, statements of varying levels of detail are made concerning affinities. The choice of the level, on which the affinities are to be determined affects the quality of the rules provided by the system.
Dependencies
The item must be contained in the TLOG InfoProvider. You define the item as a cube-internal characteristic or as a navigational attribute.
This InfoObject is also used for storing the premiss "A" of the found rule "Item A -> Item B". The item must therefore also be contained in the Rule-Cube. If this characteristic is contained in the TLOG InfoProvider as a navigational attribute only, the attribute itself must be defined as a cube-internal characteristic in the Rule-Cube.
Example
If the InfoObject Material (0MATERIAL) is specified as an item, then affinities between individual articles are determined: Long-life milk of the brand XY with 1.5 % fat content is often sold together with 200 ml yogurt of the brand XY with rasberry flavor.
If the InfoObject Material Group (0MATL_GROUP) is specified as an item, then affinities between material groups are determined: Milk is often sold together with yogurt.
If the navigational attribute 0MATERIAL__0MATL_GROUP of the TLOG InfoProvider is specified as an item, then the characteristic 0MATL_GROUP must be contained in the Rule -Cube.
