Documentation
Definition
The graphic shows the data flow of objects within BW. It clarifies the interrelations and dependencies between the individual objects, and can be called for the following BW objects:
1) InfoProviders
2) InfoSources with flexible update
3) InfoSources with direct update
All the linked objects and rules are displayed that precede this object in the data flow. The complete set of connected objects, right up to the InfoProvider, are displayed for InfoSources with flexible update.
However, only those objects and rules are displayed that have previously existed in an active version in BW. If the objects or rules have been changed and not reactivated, then they are shown in the graphic.
Connected source systems, DataSources and transformations (transfer rules 3.x) can be displayed for an InfoSource with direct update. For an InfoSource with flexible update, the graphic also contains transformations (update rules 3.x) and InfoProviders.
Transformations (update rules 3.x, transfer rules 3.x), InfoSources, DataSources and source systems are displayed for an InfoProvider.
The objects themselves show the nodes in a graphic. The rules that describe the dependencies between the objects are illustrated by arrows. If you use the mouse to highlight the relevant arrow, a quick info tells you which rule connects the two objects and whether the rule is active or inactive.
You have the following functions at your disposal:
By double-clicking on a node or an arrow you branch to the display for an object or the rules.
